This is a 250-gallon water tank rescued from a junked RV, which I use to catch water for the plants. I ran a 5" flexible tube (usually used underground for drainage runoff) from the gutter to the tank, which sits in a small shed (door removed for photo). A screen over the opening keeps debris and bugs out. A 1/3 HP standard sump pump sunken into the tank pumps the water through a standard garden hose fitting (via a little creative [yet inexpensive] plumbing engineering) and I use a standard watering wand at the end of 100 ft of hose. Most of the plants really appreciated the switch to rainwater, especially the phrags and paphs. I do have a slight problem with the water freezing in the winter and being unable to pump it down into the basement holding tank, so I occasionally have to water for a week or two with tapwater (NOT the Disas!), but that isn't a problem for the plants.
